The Department of Vendée invites you to discover Tiffauges Castle, an exceptional site clinging to a rocky outcrop, at the mouth of the River Nantes Sevre. Located on the borders of the former provinces of Anjou, Brittany and Poitou, Tiffauges Castle captivates with its imposing ruins. This former home of Gilles de Rais, Marshal of France and companion in arms to Joan of Arc, is full of secrets and has inspired the legend of a certain Bluebeard...

Come and experience a day of shows and entertainment for the whole family and discover a large park with 16 operational medieval war machines. From the Roman catapult to the throwing machines from the Middle Ages discover the largest collection of working medieval war machines in Europe and try your hand at working the crane or the bricole throwing machine…

An immersion for the whole family including :

  • Knights jousting,
  • Weaponry skills displays,
  • The medieval training camp,
  • 16 siege engins in action, including the largest trebuchet in France,
  • 2D and 3D immersive films, between history and legend (english subtitles).
